RECYCLING AND WASTE REDUCTION
ENERGY
With the installation of the photovoltaic roof and a firm commitment to efficiency, we have reduced the energy cost from €0.37 per diner in 2012 to a cost of €0.12 per diner in 2016. With the energy we generate and the investment in community renewable energy production projects, we produce the equivalent of 100% of our energy.
SELF-CONSUMPTION
In 2012, we began the transition to renewable energy with the aim of producing all the energy needed for our activity. We became the first grid-connected solar self-consumption installation in the entire country, without premiums or subsidies. We have been recognized with the Intersolar Award for the best European solar project of 2012 and the Eurosolar award in 2013.
RENEWABLE ENERGY GENERATION
We currently have 77 photovoltaic panels installed, which supply 50% of the energy consumed throughout the year, with a total capacity of 21.17 kWp. To produce the remaining 50% of energy, we have invested in two collective renewable energy generation projects: the Som Energia photovoltaic plant (Generation kWh), where we produce 11,500 kWh/year, and the 'Viure de l'aire del cel' project, the first collective windmill being built in Catalonia, with which we will produce the equivalent of over 7,000 kWh/year.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND SAVINGS MEASURES
At Lasal del Varador, we have made a firm commitment to improve the energy efficiency of our premises and reduce energy consumption to a minimum. The measures we have implemented include LED lighting, maximum energy efficiency appliances, the installation of a thermal solar panel system for hot water, and the installation of a thermal radiant floor, among others.
ENERGY STORAGE
The company LASAL DEL VARADOR SL has incorporated a storage system into its self-consumption installation with a capacity of 44 kWh, taking advantage of the incentives program linked to self-consumption and storage with renewable energy sources, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU
The aid received from the European Union was €11,103.05.
